I KNOW SOME OF YOU DON'T LIKE READING LONG POSTS BUT FOR THE SAKE OF US ALL READ THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I picked this up on another forum, and I'm bringing it here.

Here's how it works. Pick a favorite character. From a movie, TV show, book, whatever. (The version I've seen online usually is where you pick hot actors, but I'm not putting that in the rules so I won't creep anyone out.)

That person is "drafted" to your team. No one else can draft them. (Some of your picks I wouldn't want to draft anyway, but moving on...)

I'm the initiator. Every Friday I declare a new round. Once you have drafted someone, you cannot draft another person until the next round is declared.

And gals can draft female characters, and guys can draft guys, because this is just who your favorite characters are. If I draft Gandalf that doesn't mean I think he's cute. Okay?

I'll start us off by drafting Dr. Stephen Maturin (Master and Commander) because he is my favorite character of all time. And perfect. Innocent

That was close. I figured you and Caitlin would post that at the same time.
Please state the movie.

Grrrr! Fine Grace, but shame on you. Unhappy

Take your Thornton. I draft Gerard Butler from 300, (I can't remember the character's name Blue ) because if this is going to be a "team thing", I might as well start out with a Spartan at the head of my army. Twisted Evil *evil laugh*

At least....not in hand to hand combat. I think my army of one is a bit more technologically advanced that yours....and I can just picture Thornton walking through the alleys of London with a handgun. Shocked

HAHAHA! It'd look exactly like the 300 movie, except instead of Persians my guys would have God knows what kind of people flying at them.

Hey Hannah, could you picture how gorey Stephen's demise would be if you had him leading your army into battle? tongue I just picture this pale little man throwing himself at my wall of soldiers....BWAHAHAHA! Razz

I am not sure what the point of the game is.... but it sounds fun.

Therefore I pick, yes you guessed it. <Maximus Decimus Meridius> (Gladiator)

Now remember, he led the Roman armies to victory in hundreds of battles. He commanded thousands of troops, and is an excellent warrior.

HAhaaaa

Wall of soldiers? It's only the first round, don't get delusions of grandeur!!! Besides, there's more than one way to fight a war. (Arm wrestling doesn't count!) Your next draft pick had better be some guy to sample all of King Leonidas' food and drink before he takes a bite.... Twisted Evil

So now we have representatives of Greece and Rome. Classic! *hee*

Uh oh....King Leonidas and Zoolander under the same roof? That could get ugly. Star Wars

Grace and I have set Thornton up in the guest room and Stephen in the den. They don't get along. They got in a fight about those Irish workers Thornton sent home.

I can totally picture Maximus walking through Hway's backyard. With all the dogs barking at him. Very Happy

Well now if you remember the movie, he has a dog himself. So he is dog lover.

I don't really understand this whole thing, Hannah please explain it to me scratch

Anyways, I hereby draft Robin Hood (Jonas Armstrong.) No one has yet seen him, save me and Caitlin. And he is a little "wiry", but he robs from the rich and gives to the poor, and he can shoot two arrows at the same time, cutting two hangman's ropes...it's cool.

"Wiry" is a very delicate term for it. Rolling Eyes

There....really isn't a point. In the original game, the point is to come up with as many hot actors/characters as they can.

Our version appears to have taken on a military viewpoint. So pick your people, hand out ranks, promotions, and floggings as you will.

It's fun because you get to see what type of people we all admire, so to speak. And to visualize how they would get along or not. (And to figure out how you plan on feeding them all) And also, because every time you watch Robin Hood you know: Ha! I drafted him! He's mine! Muah ha ha!!!

It's a possessiveness thing.

I have! I have! And I am so on the pro Robin Hood/anti shiny leather man team!

Weird idea, but what would it be like if you actually had to house these people?....that could get ugly. :hiddenslingsho

What would I ever feed them? Technically the only food you saw in 300 was an apple that Leonidas was eating....I guess I could get some apples.

LOTS of apples. Blue

He he, Jessica better lock Robin in her room when she goes to school in the morning. Though one scrawny little wood door is hardly a challenge for a full grown spartan to kick down. Wink lol!

Yeah, I'd say Grace and I wouldn't have as hard a time with that one. It's like the English gentlemen convention over here.

The second round draft picks are going to be telling. I think some of us need to build up the brawn side of the brains/brawn.

By the way, I'm calling the second round tomorrow instead of Friday because I won't have school. See you then!

Whoohoo! ROUND TWO! Party Hey, are you going to allow "challenging?" like if someone picked a character I wanted, (probably out of spite) I could challenge them for it? Boxer
